Jerk Chicken Burgers // Summer's Best, Episode: Summer's Bounty
IngredientsInstructions:
Jerk Chicken Burgers: 3 lb. ground chicken 3 garlic cloves, minced 3 shallots, finely chopped 3 tbsp BBQ sauce 1 1/4 tbsp Jerk sauce 1/2 cup breadcrumbs 1 egg 2 tbsp fresh thyme, tear leaves from stem 3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped salt and pepper to taste
Sesame Burger Buns: 8 sesame burger buns 1/4 cup butter, room temperature
Jerk Chicken Burgers:
1. In a small pan, sauté garlic and shallots until soft, set aside to cool. Mix remaining ingredients together until combined. Add cooled garlic and shallots to chicken mixture, season with salt and pepper.
2. Fry 1 tbsp of mixture until well done. Taste and then adjust seasoning to mixture accordingly.
3. Shape and form the chicken mixture into patties. Keep refrigerated until ready to grill.
4. Grill on medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes.
Sesame Burger Buns:
1. Evenly spread butter on both sides of buns. Grill on top rack of BBQ for 2 -3 minutes. Place Chicken Jerk Burgers between sesame buns. Serves 8.
