Cottage Life and explore Win Three Gold and Five Silver at the National Magazine Awards
June 6, 2008 TORONTO, ON: Cottage Life magazine and explore magazine are delighted to announce that they won three gold and five silver awards this evening at the presentation of the National Magazine Awards (NMAs).
“This is a great evening for Quarto Communications. What a success that our two publications, Cottage Life and explore, published just six times per year, won a combined three gold and five silver awards this evening,” said Publisher Al Zikovitz. “These awards are a testament to the quality of each and every issue and we will continue to provide the readers of both explore and Cottage Life with two of the best magazines in Canada.”
The NMAs are handed out each year in June. The 2008 Awards were presented on June 6, 2008. Prizes are handed out to magazines across Canada in various written, visual, and integrated categories.

In the past seven years, explore has been named Best Magazine of the Year by the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors three times. About the National Magazine Awards
From more than 2,100 individual entries nationwide, the NMA’s 200 judges nominated a total of 303 submissions in 76 different Canadian magazines for awards in 39 categories.
Cottage Life magazine was nominated for eight awards and explore magazine was nominated for a total of 14 awards.
