Legalett is a foundation and radiant floor system that is engineered for simplicity and convenience. By simply using air to heat floors instead of water, Legalett radiant floors forever eliminate the possibility of callbacks and water damage due to water leads. Statistics supplied by Tarion, Ontario New Home Warranty indicate that the majority of claims are as a result of leaking basements. Legalett also eliminates the complicated manifold assemblies associated with the hydronic (water-based) radiant floor systems that require valuable space and are difficult to operate.
Using Legalett for slab on grade radiant floors can trim weeks from most residential and commercial schedules because Legalett requires only shallow excavation; frost walls and footings are not required with Legalett slab on grade construction. In addition to the time savings, this also means that many building lots with poor soil conditions can now be cost-effectively developed.
The Legalett system provides a lower operating cost due to heat storage properties, thermal mass. The Legalett designed heaters use electricity, electric coils or hot water heat exchangers to heat the air for the system.
