The International Regional Magazine Association Awards were presented for editorial and design achievements in 2007. Cottage Life received seven Gold and two Bronze awards, as well as two Awards of Merit. Cottage Life was also presented the most prestigious award of the evening: Magazine of the Year (over 40,000 circulations). The award-winning magazine for cottagers by cottagers is published six times a year and has a total paid circulation of 71,000. Editor Penny Caldwell has been writing for Cottage Life since its inception in 1988 and been an editor with the magazine since 1991. She was appointed editor-in-chief in 2000 and was named Editor of the Year by the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors in 2006. There were several other Canadian publications honoured at the awards ceremony. British Columbia Magazine received four awards including: an Award of Merit in the Nature Feature category, a Bronze in the General Feature category, a Bronze for Reader Service and an Award of Merit for Art Direction on a single story.
