They now make lightweight but durable panels for decks and docks as well. Their non-clip Legacy dock panels are easy to assemble and come in fours sizes (1’ x 3’, 1’ x 4’, 1’ x 5’, and 4’ x 4’) and three colours (light grey, sea foam, and maple). The unique perforated surface protects the dock from uplift from storm surges or strong winds. Why not take advantage of that location to generate solar power? That’s the idea behind ThruFlow’s Sol Series of integrated solar panels that connect to their dock decking system. Each panel generates 24 watts of power and it’s safe to walk on the non-slip surface in shoes or bare feet. Then Dr. Dockit’s Springstick will come to your rescue. Simply mount the Springstick to your dock. As you approach, drop the stopper into the water and drag it across the Springstick’s hook to automatically secure a line to the dock. CanadaDocks’ 1’ x 8’ access platform is an add-on piece that’s mounted at the water level, making it easier to climb into or out of your watercraft. The Canadian made and invented HitcHinge simplifies one of the hardest parts of the job – connecting dock sections. The patented system makes it easy to connect the sections from above so you don’t have to get into the water or risk dropping a pin into the lake. As creator Andy Assinck likes to say, “You simply place the hitch over the hinge and spin it in.” View in Fullscreen 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Image courtesy Jaws Weed Rake Chemical-free waterfront weeding Third-generation cottager Jeff Russell invented the Jaws Weed Rake to provide an environmentally friendly way to clear the weeds around the dock at his Severn River property. Simply toss the 36”-wide, 3 kg rake into the water, let it sink to the bottom, and then haul in the weeds, roots and all.
